In Internet terms, a domain name is an unique name given to any person or organization so that when the web address (domain name) is typed into a browser's address bar, the user is taken to the website of that specific person or organization. For example, for EasyASP's Internet our domain name is easyasphosting.com.

Domain names are the familiar, easy to remember names for computers on the Internet (such as easyasphosting.com). They correspond to a series of numbers, called Internet Protocol (IP) numbers, that serve as routing addresses on the Internet. Domain names are used generally as a convenient way of locating information and reaching others on the Internet.
